On April 13th, members of our Triple H (Housing, Homelessness & Health) Youth Action Team took part in the 4th Annual Pay-What-You-Can Food Truck Rodeo, hosted by A Place at the Table in Raleigh. This vibrant event brought together over 100 community members for an afternoon rooted in shared values of dignity, equity, and belonging.
Our youth joined conversations that went beyond food—discussing the realities of housing insecurity, health disparities, and the systemic barriers facing young people across Wake County. These moments of connection underscored the importance of youth leadership in shaping community solutions that are inclusive and compassionate.
The Rodeo was a powerful reminder that when people come together across differences, real change is possible. Whether it was engaging with other local leaders or sharing space with neighbors over a warm meal, the event reflected the very heart of our work: lifting up youth voices, building authentic relationships, and creating healthier, more just communities.
Included in our featured photo are our Executive Director, Dalia Wimberly, and two incredible Changemakers alongside Kellan Moore, President and CEO of the John Rex Endowment—one of the key partners helping make this work a reality.
