HOPE Seekers Take the Stage in Greenville

On March 22nd, our HOPE Seekers team traveled to East Carolina University in Greenville, NC to present at the Fostering Inclusive Education for All conference—an inspiring gathering of educators, advocates, and youth leaders working to build more equitable learning environments.

During our session, HOPE Seekers youth took center stage to share personal insights and strategies around youth-led mental health advocacy. Their presentation spotlighted trauma-informed approaches like social-emotional learning, peer leadership, and the importance of cross-sector collaboration to better support BIPOC youth in and beyond the classroom. Attendees engaged in meaningful dialogue, exploring the intersection of mental health, identity, and education—and how we can collectively create spaces that affirm and empower every student.

The experience was both energizing and affirming, reminding us that young people are not only experts in their own lives but essential partners in shaping inclusive systems. We left Greenville with new connections, strengthened resolve, and a shared vision for healing-centered education.

We’re so proud of our youth leaders and grateful for the opportunity to uplift their voices on such a powerful platform. Take a look at some of our favorite moments below and learn more about our mental health and healing justice work: https://trcnc.org/mental-health-healing-justice/
