Expectations for participating in TRC Academics
(Required)
Tutoring is available by appointment ONLY. You may not "drop in" for help without warning. Each individual session will occur at the same time each week with the same tutor and will continue for a long as the student needs assistance.
Regular attendance is expected. Missing sessions may jeopardize your spot in the program. We require a minimum of 5 sessions with each student in order to see growth. We are not the right program for you if you only want to meet once or twice during the entire academic year. Furthermore, we want you to come to tutoring whether you have "something to work on" or not. On days when you do not have homework, students and tutors can work on past or future skills. We are tutoring. We are not just "homework help."
Cancellation Policy: If you must cancel a tutoring session, please provide 24 hours notice when possible. We understand that illnesses and family emergencies happen. When they do, try your best to communicate with TRC Academics. You can email Alexa at alexa@theresiliencycolaborative.org. Missing more than 2 sessions per semester without notifying TRC Academics within 24-hours of the appointment may result in your sessions being canceled.
School Holidays and Early Release: We work with schools who are on different schedules -- traditional calendar, year round, and modified year round. When schools are closed or when there is an Early Release day, transportation can be an issue for a lot of students. On those days, we will offer virtual tutoring sessions ONLY. If virtual tutoring does not work for you, we will take those days off and cancel sessions.
Late Arrivals: Each session lasts exactly 1 hour. If you arrive late to your session, we cannot extend the session to make up for missed time. The tutor agrees to wait fifteen minutes from the time of the scheduled session before considering that session canceled without sufficient prior notice.
I have read, understood, and agree to the above policies.
