Kelsey joined TRC as the Director of Youth Programs in July 2025. As a dedicated advocate for educational access, equity, and thriving, she is passionate about empowering young leaders to become agents of change in whatever career, goals, or visions they want to pursue.
Graduating from Appalachian State University with a B.S. in Psychology, followed by her M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from North Carolina State University, Kelsey holds extensive experience in trauma-informed, identity-conscious leadership development, holistic advising, curriculum design, and sustained dialogue practices. With over five years of experience in the field, she has worked tirelessly to advocate for underrepresented communities, ensuring they have the resources, support, and guidance necessary to thrive holistically. Being a second-generation Vietnamese immigrant, first-generation college graduate, and Durham, NC native, Kelsey is particularly passionate about empowering Black and Brown, first-generation students to lean into their voices, stories, identities, and strengths to heal, take charge, and lean into their practice of authentic and caring leadership.
When she is not working, Kelsey enjoys powerlifting, photography, exploring new food spots, traveling, journaling, and spending time with her partner and dog, Cheeto.
